Tressie Marie Fisher Murphy, 96, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

She was born May 21, 1921, in Norman, Okla., daughter of Martin and Rena Hammer Fisher. She and Jesse “Carl” Murphy were married Sept. 8, 1937.

She loved to garden, crochet, cook, and spend time with her family.

She was a waitress and restauranteur. She worked on the machine guns of heavy bombers as a mechanic at Tinker Field during the WWII era.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Carl; a daughter, Margaret Lucille Murphy; three sons, Tony Ray Murphy, Michael Martin Murphy and David Carl Murphy; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Aaron, Clifton, and Melvin; and one sister, Ruby.

Survivors include five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-grand grandchildren; and other family members.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home. Online condolences maybe left at bradfordfuneralhome.net.
