Texas County’s unemployment rate increased in May, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The figure was 5.6 percent, an increase of seven-tenths of a percentage point from April.
In south-central Missouri, the average rate was 5.7 percent.
Texas County’s civilian labor force was 9,275 with 522 unemployed.
