A man from Licking is charged after a manhunt ended safely Sunday night in northern Texas County, authorities said.
John Phillips Schwartz, 33, is charged with unlawful use of a loaded weapon while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He is held on $750,000 bond in the Texas County Jail.
A search for the armed man occurred on Buffalo Road near Licking after a report that Amish family members were being threatened.
Officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Texas County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest after searching terrain in the area.
An ambulance was called to standby, but was not needed.
