Verlin E. “Bud” Richardson, 89, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Birch Tree Place.

He was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Summersville, son of Norman P. and Grace Hicks Richardson. He married Emily Meller.

He was a member of Summersville First Baptist Church as well as the VFW in Craig, Colo. He was a volunteer at the Summersville Senior Center. Before moving to Summersville, he was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in St. Louis.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and snow-mobiling. He enjoyed spending time with his son, grandchildren and family reunions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Richardson; a sister, Pauline Pitts; and other family members.

Survivors include a son, Ralph; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Darryl Richardson of Summersville, Dale Richardson of Union, David Richardson of St. Clair and Roy Richardson of Pittsburg, Mo.; five sisters, Virginia Holdren and Dena Bunch of Rogersville, Billie Lutes of Ballwin, Dora Rice of Unio and Rita Richardson of Leslie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were Sunday, Feb. 12, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Baylock officiating. Burial with military honors was in Bethel Cemetery.
