The Houston eighth-grade girls’ basketball team just missed its first victory Monday night with a 24-23 loss to Ava.
Riley Scheets led Houston (0-3) with 11 points. Jaden Stell had five points and a team-best four rebounds.
“The girls are working hard and learning in each practice,” Houston coach Patti Roberts said, “and it is showing in their games.”

Hannah Dzurick led the Lady Tigers (0-3) with nine points and six steals. Annie Topping had six points and two steals.
