Texas County’s annual pageant is just days away.
Registration is now open for the Miss Texas County Pageant, which will be held Sept. 17 inside the Community Building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 6.
There will be two sessions beginning with an afternoon show featuring girls and boys ages 3-12 from across the area. They will showcase their personalities in party dress/Sunday best, onstage question, favorite princess or prince costume, and a talent is optional. The tiaras and sashes are sponsored by Progressive Ozark Bank. Trophies are sponsored by Pop’s Treasure and Trophy.
Prior to the evening show, there will be a Mrs. Texas County competition as a fundraiser. Eligibility includes being married, at least 18 years old and a current county resident. The ladies will compete in eveningwear, model outfit of choice, private interview and talent. The winner will mentor the youth for the year.
The day will conclude with competitions for the titles of Miss Texas County and Miss Southern Missouri along with their sister queens of the Outstanding Teens. The shows are for girls ages 13-24 from across the community and throughout the state. The ladies will compete in private interview, evening wear, on-stage question, talent and lifestyle in fitness/active wear. The crowns are sponsored by Medlock’s Body Shop.
The pageant scholarships are sponsored by The Bank of Houston; Farmer’s Insurance – Cynthia Jones Ramsey agent; VIP Properties – Jan Watson; Southern Missouri Investments – Jim Bukowsky; Darin’s Body Shop; and Progressive Ozark Bank.
The new Outstanding Teen and Miss Texas County winners will promote their individual platforms and volunteering throughout the community at many events during the year.
