New hangars were constructed in 2013 at the northeast corner of Houston Memorial Airport near Airport Road and Spruce Street. Spaces for 10 airplanes were created. The City of Houston project was financed primarily through the Federal Aviation Administration. The city has plans to add additional hangars and has hired an engineering firm.
