The Houston Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help seniors and low-income families electronically file their federal income tax forms and property tax credit rebates.
Training will be provided Dec. 5-9 and Jan. 10-12 in Springfield for those new to taxes. Other training is set for Jan. 3-6 in West Plains.
Things those interested should know:
•You don’t need prior experience.
•You will receive free tax law training, e-filing training and all materials needed to prepare basic individual income tax returns. You do need basic computer skills.
•Hours are flexible. Volunteers are asked to serve an average of five or more hours per week from late January through April 15.
