Everyone is invited to join Cabool community radio station KZGM (KZ88) for a special event Saturday (May 21).
KZ88 will be celebrating its seventh birthday since hitting the airwaves, and the 80th birthday of the building that houses the station’s studio and office (at 1211 Ozark St. in Cabool).
There will be an open house, tours of the facility, refreshments and a huge yard sale. The event starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m.
It’s a great opportunity to learn some history about a very unique building,” said KZ88 co-founder Myron Jackson. “You can also visit with friends and KZ88 volunteers and see what community radio is all about, and you can also support community radio by bringing along a donation or perhaps an item or two for your yard sale. It’s all to support local community radio and have some fun doing so.”
KZ88 is one of only three community radio stations in Missouri and is locally owned and operated. It is a non-commercial station at 88.1 FM and online at www.kz88.org.
