Houston Police Chief Tim Ceplina reports that nine boxes containing 225.4 pounds of various medications were gathered during a drug take-back event last Saturday at the Houston Walmart Supercenter.
Texas County Sheriff’s Department officials said the equivalent of another three boxes full of prescription drugs had recently accumulated from a drop box available in the lobby at the jail in the Justice Center. Unwanted pharmaceuticals can be disposed of at the box 24/7 at a secure and monitored location (with no questions asked).
The take-back event was sponsored by the Houston Police Department, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, the Missouri Rural Water Association and the Big Piney River Stream Team Watershed Association.
