Junior “Mack” Cooper, 78, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016.
He was born June 4, 1937, in Houston, son of Benjamin and Grace Brannum Cooper. He and Christina Pearl Stark were married June 26, 1958.
He grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Houston High School.
He owned and operated Mack Cooper and Son Automotive from 1982 until 2003.
He and his wife, Christina, enjoyed square dancing with his brother, Jack, and wife, Mary Ann, all around the area. He also enjoyed horses and buggies, woodworking, motorcycles and working with leather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dollie and Bessie; and a brother, Dean.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 58 years, Christina of the home in Houston, four children, Mac Alson Cooper of Mountain Grove Janetta Foster of Cabool, Twila Jenkins of Ava and Tina Cooper of Houston; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, Jack Cooper of Houston; a half-sister, Ruth Best of California; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services are Saturday, April 30, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Burial was in Central Baptist Cemetery.
