Jeannie Goins

The manager of the Orscheln Farm and Home store in Houston has been named the company’s manager of the year.

Jeannie Goins, who helped set up and has worked at the local store since it opened in February 2004, received the honor at Orscheln’s annual managers meeting in Kansas City. The award takes into account strong financial performance, customer input and store appearance.

The event brought together managers from 165 stores in the Midwest for product training, exchanging ideas and yearly awards.

“We feel that Jeannie, along with her team in our Houston store, did an outstanding job last year in carrying out the Orscheln Farm and Home commitment of trademark customer service to each of their customers in the Houston area,” said director of operations Dave Hult. “We are extremely excited to reward Jeannie’s commitment to excellence.”

Goins’ first promotion was as farm department head before she received another promotion in 2006 as assistant manager. She was promoted to store manager in 2013.

“I’ve had wonderful support from my family, district manager, store employees, prior supervisors and our wonderful employees,” Goins said.
