Wanda Gerline Stoops Hunt, 69, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Mountain View Health Care.
She was born April 25, 1946, in Hartshorn, daughter of Louie Raymond “Buck” and Susie Lowell Stoops. She and Freeman Hunt were married May 30, 1980, in Texas County.
She attended school in Hartshorn through the eighth grade before later attending Summersville. She finished her GED later in life.
She worked at Nicol’s Grocery Store, Brown Shoe Factory and finished her employment at Angelica Uniform Company, where she became disabled.
She and her husband, Freeman, enjoyed hunting and fishing together. She loved tending to flowers and attending her grandchildren’s numerous volleyball, basketball and football games. When her health declined, she would listen to games on the radio.
She was a member of the Hartshorn Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed attending with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman; her parents; and three brothers, Charles Dean Lemons, Howard Lemons and Wayne Stoops.
Survivors include a brother, Willard Stoops of Yellville, Ark.; two daughters, Beverly Denton of Mountain View and Linda Watkins of Springfield; three stepchildren, Wade Hunt, Curt Hunt, and Robin Brigman; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Services were Friday, March 18, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Steelman and the Rev. John Noble officiating. Burial was in Bethany Chapel Cemetery in Eminence.
