David John Heath, 53, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born June 28, 1962, in Los Angeles, Calif., son of John William and Edna Marilla Rich Heath.

He moved from California to Salem in 1978. He graduated from Salem High School in 1982.

He was baptized Sept. 16, 1984.

He was married to Mary Maxey. He was later married to Michelle Colvard on June 14, 2008.

He worked for DBI Services for 15 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Montauk, Licking, Edgar Springs and Raymondville.

He loved hunting fishing, riding 4-wheelers, mudding, singing karaoke and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, June Cullen; foster parents, Willie and Eunice Burkhart; and a brother, Ernie Stevens.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle of Licking; a son, Travis of Licking; stepdaughters, Katie Patterson of Salem and Christina “Chrissy” Warner of Salem; a stepson, Coby Warner Jr.; three grandchildren; brothers, Alwyn Cullen of Licking, John “Skip” Brown of Salem, Jimmy Cullen of Mulberry, Ark., Guy Cullen of Bella Vista, Ark., Earl Nelson of Oklahoma, Joe Stevens of California, Stan Stevens of Missouri; a sister, Jackie Hollowell; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services were Thursday, Jan. 28, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ted Moore officiating. Burial was in the Boone Creek Cemetery.
