Two women with ties to western Texas County were injured Wednesday afternoon in a Christian County crash on U.S. 65.
Marilyn A. Brown, 73, and her daughter, Valerie F. Ealy, 48, both of Merriam Woods, were traveling southbound when a car driven by a Shell Knob man struck their vehicle in the rear corner, causing it to travel off the roadway and land on its side.
The women were taken to Cox South in Springfield. Brown had minor injuries, while Ealy had moderate injuries, the patrol said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Aaron D. Purvis, 27, who was driving the vehicle that struck their 2008 Subaru, was charged with DWI (alcohol/drugs), careless and imprudent driving resulting in a motor vehicle accident.
