Four persons were injured Friday night in a two-vehicle crash involving a Texas County Memorial Hospital ambulance about four miles south of Houston on U.S. 63.
Tpr. Mark Philpott said a northbound 1997 Oldsmobile driven by Randy E. Head, 56, was attempting to make left turn when his vehicle was struck from behind by Joshua I. Kane, 30, of Houston, who was driving a 2008 Ford E350 ambulance at about 8:10 p.m.
Kane and two passengers, Chelan D. Phillips, 42, of Mountain View, and Mary L. Smith, 88, of Cabool, all sustained minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to TCMH. Head was to seek his own treatment.
Philpott said both vehicles were totaled. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, he said. Assisting at the scene was Tpr. Travis Brown.
