Texas County deputies recently handled several investigations. 

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy investigated a report by the Houston Police Department that two men wearing hoodies and carrying a crowbar were approaching the NAPA Auto Parts store on North U.S. 63 at about 8:15 p.m. Oct. 11. The officer was unable to locate them.

•A Raymondville woman called at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 11 to report arguing and fighting at a residence across from her Highway B home. Upon arrival, an investigating officer observed that the people involved had left.

•A man called at 11 a.m. Oct. 11 to report yelling at a residence next to his Bean Creek Road home. Upon arrival, an investigating officer observed that the people involved had left.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:15 a.m. Oct. 11 after a woman reported hearing gunshots and seeing a prowler outside her Highway 17 residence at Bucyrus. The officer was unable to locate a suspect.

•A deputy was dispatched Oct. 6 regarding a report of a burglary at a Russell Drive business at Cabool.

A representative of the business told the officer a fence had been cut and numerous items with a total value of $5,067 had been stolen. After an investigation, a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against a 26-year-old Cabool man who was reportedly a former employee of the business.
