The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Mari Thomas, 28, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 7, in Houston, was issued a citation for disturbance of private peace after allegedly engaging in a verbal altercation with a 26-year-old woman who lives in an adjacent apartment at about 1:50 p.m. Oct. 15.
•Austin W. Morgan, 18, of 510 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 2, in Houston, was arrested on drug charges after an investigation Oct. 14.
Morgan had allegedly been selling marijuana cigarettes from his residence on Chestnut Street near Houston High School. An investigating officer reported finding a box containing 17 “joints” inside his house, and another in his pocket.
Morgan was taken to the Texas County Jail, and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking a felony charge of distribution of a controlled substance near a school and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. A warrant was issued Thursday, and bond was set at $500,000.
•Darren L. Bussard, 32, of 800 Dooley St. in Houston, was arrested Oct. 14 for having an active Christian County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of non-support. An officer made the arrest at the state probation and parole office after being advised Bussard was there.
He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•Jerry L. Simmons, 40, of 615 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended and failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on Oak Crest Drive at about 6 p.m. Oct. 11.
An officer made the stop after observing a gold Chevrolet S-10 pickup traveling without license plates. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.
Simmons was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•Sherry M. Walser, 61, of 17439 Highway Y in Elk Creek, was ticketed for failure to yield right of way after a two-vehicle accident at Main Street and Second Street at about 3:40 p.m. Oct. 12.
