Zula Pearl Plunk was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Ben Davis, Mo., and departed this life on Aug. 1, 2015, in Houston, Mo., after a long battle with cancer.

Zula, daughter of the late Eli and Mary Tate, was united in marriage to the late Arthur Sherman Plunk Jr. on Jan. 26, 1939. To this union four children were born: John Milton, who suffered an untimely death due to a traffic accident in 1958; Warren Arthur and his family, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; Frankie Elvin and his family of Success, Mo.; and Patricia Arlene Grooms of Centralia, Illinois.

Arthur and Zula moved their young family to California in 1952 and remained in California until 1985, before retiring and moving back to their hometown of Mountain Grove.

Zula was preceded in death by her parents: Eli and Mary Tate; her husband: Arthur, of 64 years; her son: John Milton; and all 10 of her siblings.

Zula is survived by her two sons, Warren and Frankie; her daughter, Patricia; three grandchildren, John Arthur Plunk of Mountain Grove, Nancy Plunk of Mountain Grove and Warren Plunk II of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one great-grandson, Warren Plunk III of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mother and grandmother will be missed but never forgotten.

Graveside funeral services for Zula Pearl Plunk are Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, in Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Mo. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
