Houston police officers handled several investigations during the last week. 

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Jose Garcia-Hernandez, 53, of 712 Chestnut St. in Houston, was issued a citation May 30 for driving while intoxicated.

Garcia-Hernandez was cited after an officer observed a gold Chevrolet Blazer stopped in the middle of Indian Trail Trail at about 11:50 p.m. The officer pulled his patrol behind the stopped vehicle and made contact with the driver to find out if he was OK.

The officer then smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. Garcia-Hernandez was taken to the Texas County Jail

•Jay M. Mathews-Evans, 38, of 16107 Swisher Road in Elk Creek, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly attempting to shoplift at Walmart at about 9 p.m. May 22.

•Dennis C. Ryan, 42, of 1231 E. Crest Drive in Houston, was issued citations for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after a traffic stop May 31 on Lilly Avenue.

•David P. Milko, 35, of 106 Acorn Lane in Houston, was arrested May 28 for having an active Texas County warrant for three counts of non-support. An officer who knew of the warrant arrested Milko at his residence at about 3:30 p.m.

He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $100,000 bond.

•Roger C. Blanks, 22, of 4988 Highway 17 at Summersville, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly attempting to shoplift from Walmart at about 10:50 a.m. May 21.

•Edward L. Bleckler, 45, of 8164 Morton Road at Houston, was arrested May 28 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for forgery. An officer made the arrest at Walmart after being advised that Bleckler was there.

He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $75,000 bond.

•Amanda M. Trimble, 26, of 18507 Highway UU in Solo, was arrested May 18 for having an active Texas County warrant for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and no insurance.

An officer who knew of the warrant arrested her at a Mill Street residence in Houston. She was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Jerry W. Collins, 30, of 5264 Union Chapel Road at Yukon, was arrested May 24 for having three active Texas County warrants on three counts of various drug charges.

An officer who knew of the warrants arrested Collins at the Corner Express gas station at U.S. 63 and Highway 17 after observing Collins there. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post the combined bond amount of $475,000.

•Erin L. Lancaster, 18, of 6352 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation May 20 for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption. Lancaster was cited after two officers responded at about 8:15 p.m. to a report of a man with a knife at a Plainview Drive residence.

The officers made contact with Lancaster there and determined he had consumed alcohol.

•Kobe A. Hicks, 18, of Cabool, was issued a citation May 22 for stealing under $500 for allegedly attempting to shoplift from Walmart.

•Erin L. Lancaster, 18, of 6352 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation May 19 for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.

Lancaster was cited after an officer responded at about 1 a.m. to a report of rocks being thrown at the window of an apartment on Grand Avenue. As a result of the investigation, Daniel K.E. Sheppard, 20, of 3126 Highway 119 in Salem, was cited for possession of marijuana.
