Houston had a pair of lopsided victories Saturday at the Walnut Grove Baseball Festival.
The Tigers began the day with a 16-0 three-inning victory against Everton and concluded the tournament by beating Skyline 13-3.
Both games ended early due to run rules.
Tanner Cantrell homered and drove in five runs in the Everton victory. Kyle Wilson had an inside-the-park home run and four RBIs.
Against Skyline, the Welch brothers –– Stetson and Whitley –– combined for seven RBIs in the six-inning win. Stetson Welch accounted for four of the runs knocked in.
Last Thursday, the Tigers (14-7) tied a season-low run total in a 6-2 home loss to Licking. Cantrell had three hits in the defeat.
The following day, Houston bounced back with a 12-4 home win against Dora. Ethan Kelley, Stetson Welch and Ross Wells drove home three runs apiece.
On Monday, the Tigers committed five errors – leading to 10 unearned runs – in an 11-7 road loss at Hartville.
