The Houston High School tennis team swept the doubles matches last Tuesday in a 6-3 victory against Licking.
Lucas Kelley and Grady Todd teamed up for an 8-2 victory in doubles play. Alexis Adey and Lizzy Swindell won 8-6 and the team of Shelby Cremer and Celina Castleman were 9-7 winners.
In singles play, Adey won her match 8-6, Swindell was victorious 8-3 and Todd won 8-4.
The following day, Houston finished second in the Salem Invitational Flight Play.
Both of Houston’s doubles teams finished second in their brackets. Adey and Swindell were runners-up in No. 1 doubles and Todd and Sammy Garrett were second in No. 2 doubles.
Kelly had an 8-2 victory against his opponent from Licking for Houston’s lone victory in six singles matches.
