Gov. Jay Nixon is expected to consider the recommendations of the county’s political parties before naming a county recorder of deeds.
The Texas County Democratic Central Committee announced Monday that it had selected Houston businessman David Adkison as its nominee for the job, which was created with the March 29 death of Susan Warkentin.
Republicans are supporting the candidacy of Lindsay Koch, who was appointed as the interim recorder of deeds by the Texas County Commission. Koch was a deputy in the office. A petition also is in circulation.
The gubernatorial appointee will serve until Dec. 31, 2018.
