Texas County Sheriff James Sigman, left, and Sgt. Jeff Kinder of the Missouri State Highway Patrol conduct a press conference regarding the Tyrone murders in February 2015.

Texas County Sheriff James Sigman hopes to soon have more information to release about the Tyrone murders. But he said he isn’t sure there will ever be a definitive answer to the question of why Joseph Jesse Aldridge shot and killed seven people and then himself on Feb. 26.

“We’re still talking to people,” Sigman said, “and I would like to have some sense of understanding as to why this may have occurred. But the reality of it is we may never know.”

Sigman said Aldridge, who committed suicide after killing seven people, might be the only person who could have cleared up the uncertainty.

“There are a lot of rumors and speculation,” Sigman said, “but he was the one with all the answers.”
