Due to the tragedies at Tyrone, houstonherald.com saw record traffic in February.

On Friday alone – the day after the shootings – there were 171,333 visitors who loaded 228,045 pages of information, a new record for a single day since the website was launched 15 years ago.

In February, eight of the 10 top stories were related to Tyrone murders.

Ranking sixth of the list was news of a murder-for-hire charge involving a Houston woman.

In February, 320,491 readers viewed nearly 1.1 million pages.
