Hazel L. Miller, 94, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Mountain View Health Care.

She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Birch Tree, daughter of James Alfred and Sarah Jane Ramsey Keeling. She and Ray Miller were married Dec. 27, 1947. He passed away Dec. 26, 1972.

She attended Summersville First Baptist Church. She joined Summersville Order of Eastern Star in 1970 and was a member of Summersville Chapter 363, where she served as worthy matron. After Summersville Order of Eastern Star closed, she became a member of Current River Chapter 239 at Eminence.

She enjoyed living the farm life and taking care of her cattle and chickens. She also loved to fish and spend time outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Ray; her parents; four brothers, Otto Keeling, Frank Keeling, Ruben Keeling and Richard Keeling; and four sisters, Alta Short, Edna May Keeling, Lena Rivers Keeling and Mary Ann Renegar.

Survivors include many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services and Order of Eastern Star services were Friday, Nov. 28 at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Bradford officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery near Birch Tree.
