A man who was arrested during last April’s historic drug sweep in Texas County has pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
In a hearing Dec. 18 at the Texas County Justice Center with Circuit Judge Bill Hickle presiding, Dave Bressie, 58, of 419 Craig St. in Raymondville, entered an Alford plea (a guilty plea by a defendant who claims innocence of a crime but admits the prosecution has enough evidence to prove that he is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt) on a pair of class B felony distribution charges dating back to Nov. 26, 2012.
Bressie was one of 45 people with drug ties put behind bars April 14 in the largest single-day drug sweep in Texas County history. Officers representing eight area law enforcement agencies executed warrants during the sweep.
Bressie requested a sentencing assessment report, and is scheduled to be sentenced by Hickle at 9 a.m. Feb. 3.
