The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11 p.m. Sept. 16 to the Shell gas station in Licking regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officer made contact with a woman there who stated she and her former boyfriend had gotten into a fight as his Sherrill Road residence. She said he pushed her several times, so she went to her car and got her gun and fired a shot over his head.

The officer made contact with the man, who stated the woman was attempting to the let air out of a tire on a truck parked at his house, and when he told her to leave she threatened him with a gun. He said he heard a gun shot as he went back to his barn, but that he didn’t want to pursue charges.  

•A 44-year-old Houston man came to the TCSD office at about 8 p.m. Sept. 21 and reported that a man staying at his Morton road residence had stolen some checks from him.

The man told an investigating officer he had found that one of the checks had been cashed at the Houston Walmart. He gave the officer a copy of the allegedly cashed check and a checkbook, both belonging to a woman from Jonesboro, Ark.

Investigation of the matter continues.

•A 28-year-old Houston woman came to the TCSD office at about 6:15 p.m. Sept. 21 to report that a radio, a cell phone and some tools (with a total value of $275) had been stolen from her Highway 17 residence. The woman said she was in the process of moving and found the items were missing. There are no suspects.

•A 59-year-old Raymondville man on Sept. 10 reported that a battery and a toolbox had been swiped from a Peterbilt big rig parked at his place of business on Highway 137. The man stated that battery cables in the truck were also damaged. There are no suspects.

•A deputy responded Sept. 18 to a report of theft at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s George O. White State Nursery on Shaffer Road near Licking.

The supervisor of the facility told the officer 34 brass Rainbird sprinklers had been swiped, with a total value of $900. A local scrap metal buyer was notified. There are no suspects.

•A 46-year-old Houston man reported Sept. 18 that someone on an ATV had shot the back glass out of an SUV parked at his Highway 38 residence.

The man told an investigating officer that a 52-year-old neighbor man was the shooter. In his report, the officer stated that the man’s story wasn’t consistent and didn’t match up with evidence at the scene, and that he believed the man had filed a false report.

•A Eunice man reported at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 1 that someone had been inside his Highway 17 residence. An investigating officer stated that upon arrival, the man would not come to his door.

•A Houston man reported Sept. 13 that he had sold a home on Lilly Road, and the new owner wouldn’t let him retrieve some of his belongings from the residence.

An investigating officer made contact with the man who had bought the house, and he produced a contract showing the items the former owner wanted were included in the purchase. The officer told both men their issue was civil and advised them to contact attorneys.

•A Raymondville man called at about 6:45 p.m. Sept. 15 to report that a young girl was inside a dog cage on the porch of a residence across from his Highway 137 home.

An investigating officer spoke with the child’s parents, who stated their daughter was playing and the cage door was never locked.

•A Cabool woman called at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 15 to report that someone in a truck was driving down Airport Road shooting a gun. An investigating officer was unable to locate a suspect.

•A 67-year-old Licking man came to the TCSD office Sept. 16 to report that a rifle valued at $650 had been stolen from a truck parked at his Reed Road residence. There are no suspects.
