A local bank and a Licking business have both reported finding counterfeit bills on Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD Sgt. Tim Ceplina said a bank came across a fake $100 bill and two phony twenties in a deposit submitted by a business, and that Licking Police had been alerted to fake fives and tens being passed at a business in that town.
Ceplina said one of the 20s discovered by the bank was of high quality.
“Be on the lookout,” he said. “If currency seems questionable, contact your local law enforcement.”
The HPD’s phone number is 417-967-3348.
