Amber Johnson and Noah Moseley both hurdled to the top of the South Central Association.
Johnson won the eighth-grade girls’ 75-meter hurdles in 13.78 seconds and Moseley was victorious in the eighth-grade boys’ 100 hurdles in 16.38 seconds at last Monday’s SCA meet in Salem.
Johnson was also second in the high jump for the top two finishes for the Houston eighth-grade girls. Sevanna Rowland finished fifth in the 200 and triple jump. Kaitlyn Root was fifth in the discus and sixth in the high jump, and Carly Crawford finished fifth in the 800. The 4×100 relay team of Johnson, Rowland, Taylor Chipps and Madison Lawson placed fourth and the 4×200 team of Root, Rowland, Chipps and Crawford was fifth.
Shelby Korte placed second in the triple jump for the seventh-grade girls. Elayna Sisk was fifth in the 100 and high jump.
Moseley was third in the long jump for the eighth-grade boys. Evan Richardson placed third in the 100 and 200. Ridge Dailey was third in the high jump and Ty McCloud finished fourth in the triple jump.
C.J. Lee was sixth in the shot put for the seventh-grade boys.
