Two Licking residents were injured Wednesday afternoon — one seriously — in a collision about five miles north of Licking on Highway C.
Cpl. Scott Nelson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Amelia C. Sands, 22, crossed the centerline in a curve and struck a northbound 1997 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ellen L. Mares, 52.
Members of the Licking Fire Department and Houston Rural Fire Department’s rescue squad responded.
Sands’ injuries were deemed serious, and was transported to TCMH. Mares went to the hospital with moderate injuries.
