The Houston Police Department is searching for a woman who attempted to abduct a child Tuesday afternoon from a W. Highway 17 business.
Chief Jim McNiell said a middle-aged woman walked into the business around 2 p.m. and grabbed a 6-year-old girl by the arm. The girl, who was sitting at a desk, fell to the floor. The woman fled on foot when the girl screamed.
McNiell said the girls’ mother was using the restroom in the back of the business.
The woman is described as having reddish-brown long hair that goes to the middle of her back. She was wearing sunglasses and an unknown color tank top with a picture of an owl. She was also wearing flip-flops.
McNiell said a business owner next door saw the woman running west in front of the business.
