Area residents are invited to a Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Ceremony.
The event begins at 1 p.m. at 25350 Highway H, Waynesville.
Speakers are U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler, State Rep. Steve Lynch and Col. Bjarne M. Iverson, U.S. Army.
“Our cemeteries firmly believe in honoring in perpetuity those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country,” said Larry D. Kay, executive director of the Missouri Veterans Commission. “I encourage everyone to attend a Memorial Day ceremony or participate in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day. It’s the least we can do for these brave, gallant men and women.”
