William Myron Banks, 73, died Friday, May 3, in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 2, 1960, in St. Louis, son of John Houston and to Lillian Lois Hurt Banks Cooley.

Known as “Billy,” he grew up in Eminence and attended school there. He served in the Army in the late 1970s.

He lived in many locations in his life, including Malden, where he stayed with his brothers, Gary and Kerry. He also lived in Dallas, Texas.

He loved cooking biscuits and gravy, camping and spending time on the river in Eminence and being with his family.

Services were Tuesday, May 7, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Younger officiating. Burial was in New Eminence Cemetery.
