An organization that serves Texas County announced plans for its biggest fundraiser of the year.

Christos House — which serves victims of domestic and sexual abuse —will hold its 10th annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The event begins at noon at the National Guard Armory in West Plains, and a live auction starts at 1 p.m.

It’s the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The goal is $15,000.

Proceeds are used to benefit women and children. This year’s plan calls to purchase a 12-passenger van for transportation needs.

Entry forms for a baking contest are available at Christos House’s resale shops in Alton and West Plains, its outreach center in the Imperial Center in West Plains and online at www.christoshouse.com. Entry forms are due Feb. 4 and can be dropped off at the outreach center, sent by fax to 417-469-1192 or 417-256-3428 or emailed to christoshousesupport@hotmail.com. Prizes will be awarded.

The auction features several items, including tickets to various venues.

Attendees buy tasting tickets. The cost is $5 for 10 — with some desserts costing more than a ticket. Children’s activities also are planned.
