A Houston woman was cited by the Houston Police Department on Nov. 17 after a dog she owns reportedly attacked and bit a postal worker who was delivering mail at the woman’s residence on 115 N. King St.
Karla R. Odom, 46, was issued a citation for allowing an animal to run at large – second offense, after a postal worker told an investigating officer that the small dog (identified as possibly being a Yorkshire terrier) had latched onto her right leg and she had sprayed it with mace to remove it.
Odom was cited for a similar offense last March.
The following are matters recently dealt with by Houston police:
Nov. 17
––Two Salem women were issued citations charging them with stealing under $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift at the Houston Walmart at about 2 p.m.
Cited are Nichole L. Littrell, 28; and Samantha E. Kripps, 25. Kripps was also cited for first-degree trespassing, after being issued a trespass notice by Walmart after being caught attempting shoplift at the Salem store in 2011.
Nov. 19
––Dustin R. Odom, 27, of 115 N. King Street in Houston, was arrested at his residence for having an active municipal warrant for failure to appear on a speeding charge. Odom was taken to the Texas County Jail where he posted $150 bond and was released.
Nov. 24
––Lewis L. Grant, 17, of 147 W. Highway B at Raymondville, was issued a citation for failing to stop at a stop sign after an officer observed a green GMC Sierra pickup travel through a four-way stop at First and Pine streets at about 9:30 p.m.
