The Houston eighth-grade girls’ basketball team cruised to a pair of lopsided victories this week.
On Monday, Abby Casper scored 14 points to lead eight different players in scoring as the Lady Tigers thumped Licking 43-5.
Jaydin Ramsey scored eight points and Alyssa Hayes added six.
The following night, Casper scored 15 points and Stephanie Crewse added 12 as Houston beat Liberty 50-13.
“We are starting to get everyone back from injury, which lets us do more things,” Houston coach John Jordan said. “The kids are playing very hard and sharing the basketball. They like getting up and down the floor quickly, and that’s fun to watch if they are under control.”
SEVENTH GRADE: Carly Crawford scored 11 points in the Lady Tigers’ 27-19 loss Monday to Licking.
Amber Johnson and Abby Dzurick added three points apiece.
On Tuesday, Kaitlyn Root had eight points and Crawford added five in Houston’s 37-19 loss to Liberty.
“We had a terrible time handling Liberty’s pressure,” Jordan said. “We had way too many turnovers and had difficulty getting back on defense.
