OPINIONS FROM DOUG DAVISON
Welcome to Texas County
There are so many unique and wonderful things about this part of the Ozarks.
Peoples’ best effort has become rare
Rather than doing a good job, many people seem OK with “just doing a job.”
We all live by faith
The dictionary.com description of faith is “confidence or trust in a person or thing.”
Stuff that’s going away
No longer can a name-brand candy bar be obtained for less than a dollar, and the days of that kind of thing are permanently over.
A different kind of doe
There’s a deer that loves to hang around the forested property where my wife and I live.
A tribute in song
In the spirit of “Weird Al” Yankovic, it’s a song I wrote with lyrics modified from Barry Manilow’s No. 1 hit from 1976, “I Write the Songs,”
A nice time of year
In the morning, you turn the heat on in the house to get the “nip” out of the air. Then in the afternoon, you turn on the air conditioning to cool things off a bit.
OFF THE CUFF: The series continues
