50th Annual Juried Fall Art Show

The Harlin Museum of West Plains is proud to announce its 50th Annual Juried Fall Art Show, a celebration of five decades of artistic excellence in the Ozarks. This year’s show will be on display from September 5th through September 27th, 2025, at the Harlin Museum, located at 405 Worcester Avenue in West Plains, Missouri.

Artists are invited to submit their works on August 28th, 29th, and 30th. Entries will be juried between September 1st and 3rd. In a juried show, submitted works are evaluated by a designated judge, who determines which pieces will be exhibited. Final selections will also be eligible for cash awards. The show will feature the following categories: People, Animals, Landscapes, Abstract, and Still Life.

Maximum of five entries per artist. Entry fees: 1st entry: $25; 2nd entry: $20; 3rd entry: $15; 4th entry: $10; 5th entry: $5. All works must be the original creation of the submitting artist and must adhere to the following guidelines: Work must be framed or on 1.25” gallery-wrapped canvas, wired and ready to hang; No sawtooth hangers or snap-together plastic frames; Paper works must be under glass or Plexiglas; Acrylics and oils must be completely dry; Size limit: 36” x 48”; No works depicting provocative nudity or violence; Entries must not have been previously entered in any Harlin Museum competition shows; Entries will be judged on artistic quality, originality, presentation, and compliance with exhibition requirements.

Artists may choose to offer their works for sale, with a 30% commission taken by the museum. By entering, artists agree that the museum may use photographs of accepted works for promotional and social media purposes.

Receptions & Events:
Opening Gala: Friday, September 5, from 6–8 p.m.
A festive kickoff open to the public — a perfect opportunity for artists to invite family and friends.
Artist Meet & Greet & Awards Presentation:
Saturday, September 6, from 2–4 p.m.
Artists will gather for a social event and awards ceremony. Artwork will be released following the event.
Artwork Pickup
Pieces may be retrieved during regular museum hours (Thursday–Sunday, 2–4 p.m.) beginning the week after the show ends. Unclaimed artwork will become the property of the museum after [insert timeframe, e.g., 60 days].
