Daniel Harve Parks, 61, son of Minor Lee and Bessie Lucinda Summers Parks, was born March 24, 1941, at Lincoln, Ill. He died June 12, 2002, at his home at Roby. When he was eight, his family moved from Lincoln to Shelbyville, Ill. He loved to go hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting, play dominos and sit at the Turkey Shack with the boys. He married Marla Barr Feb. 3, 1961. They had three children, Angela, Mary Anna and Teresa. Mr. Parks joined the Army in 1958 and retired in 1979 after serving in Vietnam. He married Anna Marie Hildebrand June 26, 1982. The Parks lived at Roby after his re-tirement. He was preceded in death his parents; one sister, Mary Anna; and one brother, Ted. Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie of the home; six daugh-ters, Gwendolyn Sweno of Lebanon, Angela Parks of Shelbyville, Ill., Mary Anna Kemme of Charleston, Ill., Annette Monroe and Lynette Schondel of Plato and Teresa Arnold of Effingham, Ill.; three sisters, Betty Wilson of Edonburg, Texas, Edna Downs and Lola Minter of Shelbyville, Ill.; two brothers, Bill of Shelbyville, Ill., and Sonny of Lakewood, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were June 15 at the Roby Baptist Church with the Rev. Shelly Zook and the Rev. Brock Davis officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Palace Cemetery under the direc-tion of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. “
