Lochiel Vest Trusty, 84, son of Lochiel and Myrtle George Trusty, was born Nov. 19, 1917, at Rogers, Ark. He died June 15, 2002, at Springfield. Mr. Trusty grew up in Texas County and graduated from Houston High School in 1935. He enlisted in the Navy in 1938, serving until the end of World War II. He retired from the Navy as a first class boat swain mate and later joined the Merchant Marines. He served in dozens of ports and several countries. He was part of oil supply in Korea and Vietnam. His last years were in Gulf Oil ships on the East Coast and Texas. He was married for a brief time to Blanche, who resides in St. Louis. They remained life-long friends. After he retired, he returned to St. Louis. He later moved to Springfield and spent his final years with Willadene Gann and her daugh-ter, Betty. Mr. Trusty is remembered for the twinkle in his eye, his dry wit and humorous outlook on life, walks to the library, fishing trips and stories about his travels in all the parts of the world. Surviving are his sister, Helen Bequette of St. Louis; and a brother, Thomas George Trusty. “
