Rosezetta Issabella Thomas Jackson, 88, daughter of Mathew May and Zella Bell Allyn Thomas, was born April 11, 1914, at Mt. Vernon, Ind. She died July 24, 2002, at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. She married George R. Jackson Feb. 15, 1932, at Webster Groves. They had one son. Mrs. Jackson loved church, listening to preaching and reading her Bible each day. Shortly after her marriage, she joined her father-in-law’s coun-try/western band, “”The Oklahoma Jack and His Oklahoma Cowboy Band””, performing with them all throughout the Midwest. She was known as “”the girl of the Golden West””. with her talent of singing. In her early years, she had a high so-prano voice and sang at many events. She was a 60+ year member of the Eastern Star. She loved to watch TV sports and knew the names of almost every player. She had a hobby of record-ing the daily weather. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Roby Baptist Church but had attended Palace Union Church for the last two years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 24, 1981; her sister, Della May Thomas; her brother, Will Keith Thomas; and only grandson. Surviving are her son, George Jackson of Plato; two granddaugh-ters and six great-grandchildren. Services were July 29 at the Palace Union Church with Terry Key officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Abby in St. Louis under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking. “
