Dora O. Benson Sliger, 100, daughter John A. and Mary Edith Merrell Benson, was born Jan. 18, 1902, near Success. She died Aug. 25, 2002, at Rolla Manor Care Center. She was baptized at Boiling Springs at an early age and was a member of the Assembly of God at Edgar Springs. She married Alfred Zeb Sliger Oct. 31, 1918. They had four daughters. Mrs. Sliger enjoyed quilting, gar-dening and canning produce from her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Vernon; infant daughter, Vernona; four sisters, Christina Fuji, Ruth Hollingsworth, Isabelle Warner and Amanda Montgomery; and two brothers, Clarence Benson and Bill Benson. Surviving are her daughters, Hope Snelson and Kathy Knudsen of Rolla, Jessie Booker of Cook Station and Mary Laughlin of Waynesville; one brother, John Benson of Alburn, Calif.; 13 grand-children, 33 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Services were Aug. 28 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Cavaness Cemetery. “
