Margaret Ann McMahan Bauer, 62, daughter of Nick and Maudena Turner McMahan, was born June 25, 1940, at Olden. She died Sept. 2, 2002, after a nine-year battle to survive. She grew up in the Richards R-4, Pomona and Willow Springs school districts. She graduated from Willow Springs in 1958. She en-joyed participating in girls’ glee club, mixed chorus, Future Homemakers of America, softball and bowling. She married Ronald Valentine Bauer June 24, 1961. They were married 41 years and had two chil-dren. Mrs. Bauer had a strong work ethic and spent nine years with the Rawlings Corp. of Willow Springs and 17 years with Brown Shoe Co. of Cabool. In 1986, she pursued her dream of nursing and graduated from South Central Vo-Tech in 1987 as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Texas County Memorial Hospital for 12 years, where she re-tired as a nurse for Hospice of Care in 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cabool, where she served as a Training Union teacher, mission team volunteer and church clerk. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother. Surviving are her husband of Cabool; one daughter, Lesa Bauer of Manchester; one son, Kenneth Bauer of West Plains; her mother of West Plains; one brother, Gary McMahan of Palestine, Texas; one sister, Vivan Brake of West Plains; and one granddaughter. Services were Sept. 5 at the First Baptist Church in Cabool with the Rev. David Purichia officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool. “
