Calvin Loyd Peabody, 74, son of Ray and Lula Odor Peabody, was born Oct. 13, 1928, at Nagle. He died Dec. 3, 2002, at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center at Mount Vernon where he had been a resident for the last year. He was converted at an early age. He married Helen Sigler Feb. 24, 1949. They had two daughters. Mr. Peabody loved his children and spent many days fishing with his granddaughter and riding 4-wheelers. He retired from driving for Red Top Gas in 1987 due to failing health. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 53 years; two daughters, Janet Burbury of Springfield and Rhonda Carter of Willow Springs; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Services were Dec. 6 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home in Cabool with David Ingalls officiating. Burial was in the Nagle Cemetery. “
