HAZEL MCALISTER

Hazel C. McAlister, 82, daughter of James Oscar and Sadie Hill Hazlitt, was born Dec. 30, 1919, at Palestine, Texas. She died Dec. 18, 2002, at Houston House, where she had been a resident for two years. She married Burley McAlister Sept. 9, 1985. Mrs. McAlister loved caring for her home, cooking, gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed yard sales and visiting friends. They McAlisters could be seen in the donut shop almost daily visiting with friends as long as her health permitted. Surviving are her husband; one son, Bob Manella of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepson, James Burley McAlister of Graham, Texas; three daughters, Jan Manella of North Carolina, Cheryle Pedlar of Phoenix, Ariz., and Judy Griffin of California; a stepdaughter, Roberta Ruth Hart of Rockford, Mich.; and one brother, Bill Hazlitt of Eunice. Services were Dec. 23 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiat-ing. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery. “
