Maynard Davis Freeman Jr., 64, son of Maynard and Pearl Barnett Freeman, was born July 6, 1938, at Neosho. He died Dec. 7, 2002, at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1956 and joined the Naval Air Force. After his discharge from the Navy, he attended Spartan Air Craft School in Tulsa, Okla. He later became a pilot for Flying Tigers, flying all over the world. For many years he made his home in San Francisco. He later lived on a ranch in northern California. Nine years ago he and his wife, Carolyn, established the “”Yellow Cow Ranch”” near Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joye Freeman. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Johnson Freeman of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Sue York of San Francisco, Calif., and Patricia Davis of Redmond, Ore.; one son, Maynard Davis Freeman III; two sisters, Doris Freeman of St. Louis and Marjorie Jaques of Blue Springs; and eight grandchildren.
