Cora Berniece Johnson, 65, daughter of Oliver Wilson Ramsey and Gladys Stilley Ramsey, was born Jan. 2, 1939, near Success. She died Jan. 19, 2004, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She spent her lifetime in the Ellis Prairie and Bucyrus communities. She worked at The Lee Co. as a sewing machine mechanic. She loved her home, flowers, gardening and visiting with friends and neighbors about years gone by. She attended the Success Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Johnson; two sons, Steve Ramsey and an infant, Ron Johnson; two brothers, Herschel Ramsey and Dale Stilley; and a granddaughter. Surviving are her former husband, Don Jackson; one daughter, Sue Jackson of Bucyrus; two sons, Keith Jackson and Shawn Johnson of Bucyrus; two brothers, George Ramsey of Bucyrus and James Ramsey; three sisters, Mary Canterbury and Nellie Gaither of Bucyrus and Irene Carter of Ellis Prairie; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Services were Jan. 22 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Moore officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. “
