Dorsey Dean Jackson, 76, daughter of Jess and Sarah Campbell Guynn, was born Nov. 17, 1927, near Upton. She died Jan. 15, 2004, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. She grew up in the Huggins community, where she attended school. She taught in rural schools at Alice and a one-room between Bendavis and Fairview. She married William Oliver Jackson Aug. 20, 1950. They had one son. Mr. Jackson was a school administrator and the family lived in different parts of the state. In the ’70s, they returned to this area. Mrs. Jackson was active in the community organizations throughout the years. She worked with her son in his business. She enjoyed painting, gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband June 6, 1989. Surviving is her son, Myron of Huggins. Graveside services were Jan. 19 at the Hickory Ridge Cemetery with Jack Keith officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
