Forrest “”Lefty”” Stark, 76, son of Gilbert Manley Stark and Ruby Lee Herrin Stark, was born April 12, 1927, at Edna, Kan. He died Jan. 27, 2004, at his home at Summersville. He married Thelma Copeland. They had three sons, Daniel, Raymond and Mike, and later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army from June 28, 1945, to April 19, 1947. He married Mary Lenora Gale Stark Sept. 12, 1987. Mr. Stark was a member of the Eunice Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1988. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction in Oklahoma until his retirement. He loved playing with his grandchildren and working in his vegetable and flower garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mike; four brothers, Bill, Artie and Cecil Stark and an infant brother; and two infant sisters. Surviving are his wife of 15 years of the home; his children, Daniel Stark of Haskell, Okla., Raymond Stark of Sand Springs, Okla., Glenda Belew of Alton, Ill., Earnie Stark of Summersville, Brenda Pitts and Chuck Stark of St. Louis and Linda Beason of Florissant; three brothers, Mark Stark of Summersville, Walt Stark of Irving, Texas, and Norman Stark of St. Louis; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services were Jan. 30 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Steelman officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery. “
